20 Days of Prayer Day 7 "His Compassions Never Fail"

Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for Him. The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who seeks Him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord” (Lamentations 3: 22 – 26).

Jesus, during this time of trial and uncertainty, we call out to You, “Lord, hear our prayers”. Thank You for Your great compassion that knows no limits, never fails, and can never be used up. Thank You for Your love demonstrated on the cross, and in our lives every day. You are love and You are light; there is no darkness in You. Thank You for provision for Your people. As we look back, we see that You have never left us; You have always made a way; You have always provided just what we needed. Jesus, have mercy on Your people. Pour into our hearts peace, displacing fear; joy, displacing sadness; and abundant hope displacing uncertainty.

Holy Spirit, we ask You protect those who are at risk from illness during this pandemic, protect our medical community of doctors, nurses, first responders, and all others who are caring for us. We rebuke spirits of chaos, infirmity, blame, confusion, and division. And Father, remove this virus from our midst, but use it as Your tool to restore Your people, if that is Your will.

Protect and bless our nation, our President, and all in government who are working to mitigate the effects of this pandemic. Give them wisdom.

Finally, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139: 23, 24).

Open my eyes, Holy Spirit, to see if “there is any offensive way in me”, and give me the grace to repent, trusting in Your everlasting mercy. Father, I renounce the ‘finding fault’ spirit. Forgive me.

And now, O Lord, give Your people rest from anxiety and fear. Give us peace and the promise of a future. You are the almighty, everlasting God; perfect, awesome in power, victorious; You are more than enough for me. Receive my worship.

Jesus, we love You. Amen
