20 Days of Prayer Day 8 "He Who Dwells In the Shelter of the Most High"
“He who dwells in the shelter (secret place) of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely He will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, not the plague that destroys at midday . . . If you say, “The Lord is my refuge”, and you make the Most High your dwelling, no harm will overtake you, no disaster will come near your tent” (Psalm 91: 1 – 6, 9, 10).
Most holy Father, where are we “dwelling” during this time of great distress and uncertainty in our world? Are we dwelling in a place of worry, anxiety, fear, and helplessness? Or are we choosing to “rest in the shadow of the Almighty”? You have provided for us a place of comfort and peace, a place where we can find strength and refuge. Thank you, Lord Almighty, that there is no circumstance you cannot overcome. We acknowledge that worry and fear are not from you. This day we choose to rest in your Almighty Shadow - our safe place.
In the precious name of Jesus,
Amen
