40 Days of Prayer Day 39 “We Follow A Faithful God – Ever Present, Full of Grace”
Tomorrow is Pentecost!
“It is good to give thanks to the Lord, to sing praises to thy name, O Most High, to declare thy steadfast love in the morning, and thy faithfulness by night” (Psalm 92: 1, 2 RSV)
Father, You are faithful to me, because You have decided that I am Yours.
When I confess my sin, You forgive again.
When I am distracted from You, You are ever present still, waiting for my affections to return.
When I am headed in my own direction, You let me stumble so You may catch me and point me back to the place of blessing.
When I seek You, You are there to be found.
When You call me out to follow You, You pursue me and prepare the way.
We will speak of your faithfulness to remind ourselves that the gods of this world change. Idols are as fickle in their promises as are we who create them. On them we cannot rely.
As You are faithful, produce faithfulness in us, by your Spirit (Gal 5:22) – not blind faith but rather trust and steady attentiveness to You who undergirds our every breath.
Amen
