Jesusrestores.com — Now on Facebook and Twitter

I started this blog about a year ago to send messages to my friends who wanted to know how our mission trip to Africa was going. Over the past year it has evolved into an outlet for my thoughts about Jesus, God, the Kingdom of God, the kingdom of the world, salvation, prayer, and a whole lot of other related things.

One of Judy’s friends, Ana Morales, help me set up the blog originally. For the most part it has been read by my friends and a few faithful followers in the UK and Brazil. Actually, it has reached over 60 nations and has, up to now been read by about 1400 people.

A few weeks ago Ana suggested that I ‘publish’ the blog more widely. So, yesterday she and I met for an hour or so getting the blog linked into Facebook and twitter. If you are suddenly finding this blog, that is the reason.

What you will read here is my take on a life walking with Jesus. What I write is strongly rooted in Scripture and led by the Holy Spirit. I don’t always see things the way some theologians do, but I strive to be faithful to the Word of God.  You will notice if you look at some of the older posts that the Kingdom of God is a big deal to me. This is because I believe it was a big deal to Jesus. In fact, Jesus called the gospel “the Gospel of the Kingdom of God”. The Kingdom of God is here, now (although not in its fullness) and we have the right to enter into and live in the KOG. This decision is a life-changer.

Some other topics you will read about are healing prayer, spiritual warfare, and the power of God. I am especially concerned with the general failure (as I see it, which might be incorrect) of the church to call believers to repentance. As I say over and over again in the blog, repentance is not just repenting of what we did last week, it is repenting of who we are. Repentance is a gift from God, really a form of grace; we cannot repent apart from the Holy Spirit. But while we need God to repent, we must repent. Does that make sense?Several times as I have written about repentance, salvation, and the Kingdom of God I have heard God say to me “I will do it for you, but you must do it with me”. We can’t earn our salvation, but we have a responsibility to choose this amazing gift from God and repenting is part of that choosing.

Apart from repentance, we cannot enter into the Kingdom of God. Jesus said, “the Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe the Gospel”.

So, that is sort of what this blog is about. I’ll continue to publish posts as God leads whether it is read by 1000 people or just 1 person (or zero). It is a passion that I can’t ignore. Welcome to this journey. Hopefully you will be blessed.

Hallelujah

Grace and peace,

John

PS — If you look through my posts you’ll see this is one of the shorter ones. Most of my posts are between 1800 and 2400 words. Not for the faint of heart or people with busy lives.
