20 Days of Prayer Day 1

I am beginning a series on 20 Days of Prayer, beginning today and ending on Easter Sunday. These prayers were written by members of my church, sent to me, and then sent as emails to all the church members. I decided to send them out on my blog as well. I hope they bless you. Feel free to pass them on during this time of COVID-19 plague.

Though the cherry trees don’t blossom and the strawberries don’t ripen. Though the apples are worm eaten and the wheat fields stunted. Though the sheep pens are sheepless and the cattle barns empty. I’m singing joyful praise to God. I’m turning cartwheels of joy to my Savior God. Counting on God’s rule to prevail, I take heart and gain strength. I run like a deer. I feel like I’m king of the mountain“ (Habakkuk 3:17-19 The Message).

Father God; This world is a very bleak place right now. I could choose to whine, ask why, rant, rave, blame. Instead I will choose praise. I lift up to You songs of praise and love and joy, Father/Son/Spirit. Just because You Are who You Are, I will praise You. With the angels round Your throne I cry out holy, holy, holy, You are worthy Mighty God of all my praise. From everlasting to everlasting, You are God-never changing- always present- in control. ABBA, give me a heart, that no matter what the circumstances, lifts its voice to heaven and gives praise and honor and joy and thanks to the Triune God. Amen
