20 Days of Prayer Day 13 "Jesus, Faithful and Living God!"

“Turn Your gaze away from me, that I may smile again before I depart and am no more" (Psalm 39:13).

Dear Jesus, Faithful and Living God!

Thank You for being with us. Thank You for never leaving us or forsaking us. Thank You that You are mighty and powerful. Thank You that You are Holy, and Just, and Pure. Thank You that we can trust you.

Forgive us, Lord, because we have let You sleep on our boat. We have been in a storm, afraid of death, and we have not tried to wake You. Thank You that you are willing to still the raging sea with a Word and Your quiet authority that comes from knowing who You are. You are Creator and Savior. You are the Messiah. And You are with us and entirely for us. And so, we repent and wake You up now. "Save Us, O Lord, for we are perishing!" We are sorry that we looked to our wisdom and our resources above Your power. You have the solution. You have the authority! Now, we say with the Psalmist, "In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, make me to dwell in safety." (Psalm 4:8).

Lord, our times are in Your hands. You know "the days that you have ordained for me (us) when as yet there was not one of them." (Psalm 139:16). We ask You to forgive us for our fear and for our lack of faith.

Thank You for forgiving us and showing us mercy even as the words were on our tongue. You are the gracious one. You are our everything. Finally, we trust You again today.

Amen

Karl Gessler
