20 Days of Prayer Day 14 "So Do Not Fear"

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am Your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41: 10).

Heavenly Father:

We are nothing without You.  You are our Creator and Sovereign Lord. It is You to whom we turn in all things.

Father, we are being attacked by an unseen virus.  People may be unknown carriers. Some are ill and some have died.  Our government is faced with leading in uncertain territory.  Fear and anxiety have overcome many. It seems that the earthly world we have known has been turned upside down.

We pray, Father, that our leaders put aside bipartisanship and ask that You instill them with wisdom and courage to lead. We pray for healing of those afflicted and comfort for those that have lost loved ones. We ask for a cure for this virus and a vaccine to prevent future outbreaks. We ask that You shield those working in the front lines. We ask that You give people a desire to follow the guidelines, not just for their own safety but to protect the most vulnerable.

We have seen Your praiseworthy hand at work already.  Though Your faithful may not be able to gather together to worship You, new ways have been opened up by You.  By these means, You are not only reaching your faithful, but those that may never have sought Your face before! Your church has not been stopped!  We have seen how You have led people to help those in need in many different ways.  We praise You, God, for these things and all that You do to provide for us daily.

We stand firm in Your love.  This we pray in our Lord and Savior’s name, Jesus Christ.

Amen and amen

Mary Franks
