40 Days of Prayer Day 7 "The Heavenly Man"

“The first man is the dust of the earth; the second Man from heaven. As was the earthly man, so are those who are of the earth; and as is the Man from heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the likeness of the heavenly Man” (1 Corinthians 15:47-49 NIV).

Gracious Heavenly Father, we give You thanks that You have created us to be spiritually eternal persons. Father forgive us when we focus so much on our earthly selves. While we acknowledge our earthly life is a great gift from You, and we are grateful for it, help us to remember this life is temporary and short. Grant us Your grace, Your mercy, and Your guidance to use our time wisely, to give ourselves and consecrate ourselves, our time, and all we have to you. Help us to focus on others, and love our neighbors as ourselves, while loving you with all our heart.  Help us Father, to submit ourselves daily to You, to serve you, to be Your Light in a dark world, and to release Your Kingdom to those we encounter.

Father forgive us for taking the gifts You have given us, thinking they are ours, and not investing them for Your Kingdom, for missing opportunities to share Your wonderful light, and for focusing more on this temporary earthly person rather than the eternal heavenly person.  Father, we are in constant need of Your grace. Would you remove from our hearts all forms of pride, and replace pride with the humility and love of Jesus, and guide us to release His wonderful love to the world around us, during our temporary time here? And in all things, may You be glorified, for You are worthy of it all.

We ask that you hear our prayer, for we offer it in the glorious Name of Jesus,

Amen
