40 Days of Prayer Day 8 "I Lift My Eyes to the Hills"

In the morning, when I look out on our beautiful mountains, I am reminded of these  words:

“I lift up my eyes to the hills-- where does my help come from? My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. . . The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” (Psalm 121:1-2, 8 NIV)

Dear Heavenly Father, Creator of the universe and our beautiful earth, You are our strength and shield through days of joy and days of hardship. As Jesus taught his disciples “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10 NIV), help us to remember it is Your will we are seeking, not our own.

Give us Your shield of faith to know You are with us always, even in these times when we see so much change and hardship happening in our world. You have a plan that cares about our welfare and gives us a future and hope. Walk with us today, surround those who are mourning with Your comfort, remind those who are struggling You will provide for their needs, and help us all to remember in You all things work together for good, according to Your purpose.

In Christ’s name we pray,

Amen.
