40 Days of Prayer Day 11 "The Gift of the Holy Spirit"

“Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about.”  (Acts 1:4 NIV).

O LORD, I come to You in thanksgiving for being my loving Father, the King of kings, the LORD of lords, and my Savior. I stand amazed in Your presence. You are the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end;  I bow before You.

I thank You that the Holy Spirit has come within us and upon us in our day, as it did upon the believers at Pentecost. You had commanded them to wait for this gift from the Father. I thank You that you were present in the waiting. I thank You that you are present in the waiting with us---in these days of uncertainty, You are present as we wait for the end of coronavirus. You are present as we wait for a revealing of the life You have ordained for us when this pandemic passes — You are present as we wait and put our trust in You and not in the world’s shaky governmental, financial, and educational systems. We thank You as we wait with hope in Your unfailing plans.

We repent and ask You to cleanse us of all sin and distraction as we wait. Help us, O LORD, to dwell in Your presence, where there is peace and joy, till Your likeness may be seen in us.

Amen
