40 Days of Prayer Day 12 "Testing of Our Faith"
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” (James 1:2-5 NIV).
Father, we praise Your name and thank You for giving us Your Word for instruction in our lives. Help us in our belief to not be “blown and tossed by the wind” (James 1:6 NIV) but to stand secure on Your Word. We ask for strength to persevere through these days of uncertainty with grace that only You can provide. People who may not believe in You are looking at us to see how we can “consider it pure joy” (James 1:1 NIV) as we wade through these waters of economic and personal chaos.
Thank You for these opportunities to show Your love to others during this time. Lord, You have given us works, “prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10 NIV). Help us to be found faithful as we serve our loved ones, the believers in the body of Christ, and our neighbors, not to just “listen to the Word” (James 1:22 NIV), but “prove yourselves doers of the Word” (James 1:22 AMP).
Amen
