40 Days of Prayer Day 21 "A Prayer of Preparation and Anticipation"
“Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy” (Exodus 40: 9 NIV).
“Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you” (Joshua 3: 5 NIV).
Jesus, You are holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty. Your holiness reaches beyond the universe. You are perfect in beauty, majestic in Your perfection. You are light; there is no darkness in You. You are Love. You are high and lifted up – seated at the right hand of the Father. Your glory— the outstreaming manifestation of Your beauty – gives light and life to all the earth. You are unchangeable and constant – the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
We exalt the name of Jesus; the Name above every other name – You are worthy, worthy, worthy of worship, adoration, and praise.
Thank You, Father God, that Your plan is to make us holy also – “Be holy because I Am holy” – to join You in the New Jerusalem, shining with the glory of God, walking in Your light on streets of gold beside the stream of living water. Thank you, Jesus, that by grace through faith, we begin the journey of sanctification, toward the New Jerusalem now, when we enter into and live with You in the Kingdom of God.
Jesus, with Your help and Your power, I consecrate everything to You – all I have, and all I will ever have; all I am, and all I will ever be. I consecrate my time, my possessions; my wealth, reputation, talents, family, relationships, health, accomplishments, ministry, hopes, dreams, and desires to You, Lord. They all belong to You, for You alone own the cattle on a thousand hills. I offer up all of them to You; use them for your purposes and glory.
Jesus, forgive me for the times I believed all of these ‘things’ were mine; when I worshiped the very gifts You own and gave me, forgetting the Owner and Giver. I repent of squandering and hoarding these gifts, and stealing Your glory when I used these gifts to point to myself instead of to You.
Jesus, I consecrate all to You, for You alone are worthy and faithful. Thank You for my journey of sanctification.
Amen
