40 Days of Prayer Day 26 "But We Trust in the Name of the Lord Our God"

Into your hands I commit my spirit; redeem me, O Lord, the God of truth” (Psalm 31:5 NIV).

Abba, Father, we praise Your holy Name! “The heavens declare Your glory, the skies proclaim the work of Your hands” (Psalm 10:1 NIV).  Your purposes are good, and Your word is Truth. You are my rock and redeemer.

Lord, we await Your Kingdom to overtake this earth. We await Your will to be manifested over all men. We ask for Your provision as scarcity comes in many areas of our communities.

Forgive us, Lord, for pouring our hearts and our strength into superficial things, for trusting in ‘chariots and horses’ instead of the name of the Lord, our God (Psalm 20: 7); for wanting our way, for not turning to You in every little and big thing. Help us forgive those who have hurt us, ignored us, or demeaned us.

Let us be wary of traps that ensnare us, things that are alluring but empty. Lord, deliver us from these evil temptations, that we sometimes seek when we hide from You.

For those who are lonely, isolated and depressed, give them Your joy. For those who are anxious and fearful, give them Your peace. For those who don't know You, give them Your hope.

I place myself in Your hands and my trust in You, for in You is abundant life, power and glory.

In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit,

Amen
