Forty Days of Prayer Day 37 "God Is My Rock, My Salvation — A Mighty Fortress"

3 Days till Pentecost

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from Him comes my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation, my defense and my fortress, I shall not be greatly moved (Psalm 62: 1, 2 AMP).

Father, I have tried to live on my own. I have tried to ‘do it all’ in my own strength. I thought my plan was best. When I became overwhelmed and defenseless, as a last resort, I sought You out.

Meanwhile, my soul waited for me to “wake up.” My soul knew there was something more, a better way.  Lord, thank You for your patience. You were always there. You helped me find You. You helped me see that You are the source of my strength. You are the source of my joy, and You are the source of my peace. From You comes all goodness. You are my anchor and You keep me from being swept away.  Lord, You are my defender, You fought the toughest battles for me. All I did was pray. You rescued me. You are truly the source of my salvation. A mighty fortress is my God! Thank you for being who You are and for loving me so mightily.

Hallelujah, my God reigns!

In the name of Jesus Christ,

Amen
